How to Make Ribbon Hair Clips

It is a mother’s pride to see how beautiful and presentable their daughters are.  That is why most mothers buy different kinds of ribbon to match their daughter’s ensemble.  But, buying those ribbons can be costly especially if to match every ensemble their daughters have.  Why not make ribbon hair clips by yourself?  It is easy to do not to mention cheaper than buying them at your favorite store.

How to Make Ribbon Hair Clips

To make ribbon hair clips covered with snap clips, cut a 14-inch length ribbon.  Using glue, seal the ends of the ribbon.  Then, fold the ribbon on the center and make a crease on the middle.  Open the snap clip and put glue on the upper side of the unbent side. Then, place the ribbon on the snap clip.  Be sure about the center of the ribbon where the crease is to be glued on the snap clip. Allow it to dry. Weave the right side of the ribbon through the hole of the snap clip.  Tightly pull the ribbon on each turn, make sure to loop it around the edge.  Weave until you reach the bottom edge of the snap clip. Then, put the ribbon on the bottom edge of the clip using glue. Do the same thing on the other side of the snap clip.  If you are finished doing it, put a drop of glue on the top of the snap clip and crisscross the ribbon on top of the clip.  Press firmly.  Finally, wrap the ends of the ribbon and you have made your ribbon hair clip.

These are the ones I like to purchase from CVS.  They are called: Goody Dessie Snap Clips

I’ve also used alligator clips, as you suggested in one of your videos. They came out really cute. Wish I could submit pics, I think they are pretty ;)
